Hello, thank you for your interest in Mike’s Inspiration. We are Bill and Linda Lee. We own a custom embroidery business called Creative Lee Done. This is our story of how Mike’s Inspiration started.

A Fingerprinted Teddy Bear

One of the hardest things we will go through in our lifetime is the death of a loved one. Our lives will never be the same. What was once a feeling of happiness, comfort and security is replaced with loss, emptiness and sorrow. You wish you could hold on to that person just one more time.

How it all began

In December of 2016 we lost a beloved family member. When we saw how much grief their death had caused, all we wanted to do was give some comfort back. What could we do? Our family member was gone. Besides memories and photographs what was left? We realized their fingerprints were left, which the funeral home had obtained. We thought if we got their fingerprint and put it on the paw of a teddy bear it would be something my family members could hold onto that was not just a picture or a memory.

The idea coming together

  We take graphic images and convert them into an embroidered image for our customers, so taking a fingerprint and transforming it into an embroidered image was straight forward.  Linda designed a teddy bear and put the embroidered fingerprint on the bear’s paw to give as a gift. The positive response from family members was overwhelming.  It was wonderful to see how much it meant to them. Seeing the joy and comfort the bear gave our family members was something we wanted to make available to anyone grieving for a family member or friend.  Putting a loved one’s fingerprint on a bear, to give comfort and a tangible memory to hold onto, is a positive aspect during their time of grief.
